Null Device, and several other bands, will be performing on July 25th at the Memorial Union Terrace in Madison. Free show. All ages. Only union members and students over 21 can buy beer, though.
Should be a fun gig. As Madison locals we've all spent a significant amount of time lounging on the terrace, watching a band while the sun sets over Lake Mendota. And then eating our weight in bratwurst. And getting hammered on cold, cold beer.
It's tradition.
Anyway, the show is part of a 2-night extravaganza celebrating the winners of this year's madison Area Music awards. ND is on friday night. The complete linuep hasn't been announced yet, but I imagine we'll see a wide variety of bands of all stripes. Hopefully the MAMAs winner for one of the jazz categories, Randal Harrison, will be playing, because I want to harass him about the days when we played in a baroque ensemble together.
Bring mosquito repellant. It's been a bad year for those little bloodsuckers around here.
